About Me

Hey Y’all!

Welcome to The GujjuGram! This blog is sort of my love letter to the cooking universe. I hope this page brings you all sorts of inspiration and joy! As you probably guessed from the greeting I am a blogger from North Texas and love all things food. I grew up in a family of good cooks and even better eaters. We believe that nothing says love and family like a warm meal. I work full time in finance and know how difficult it can be to get a hot meal on the table for dinner after work, I hope this page makes your life a little easier when it comes to making a meal.

I started my Instagram page @gujjugram to inspire young people to get in touch with Indian spices and cooking again. I felt like so many people were intimidated by the recipe and felt like it was too difficult to make on their own. The more I practiced the more I realized how accessible Indian cooking can be. I wanted people who grew up in Indian homes to be able to recreate the dishes of their childhood on their own so that they can pass on this wonderful generational tradition. I also want to open up Indian food to the larger global audience to show how much variety exists in Indian cooking. My dream is that young people will be inspired to make meals on their own as a way to remember their roots long after they leave their childhood homes, and also that someone else who is not of Indian origin feels the love and care that a home cooked meal can provide.

As life gets busier and busier, I hope this blog can be a way for you to find tips and tricks to meal prep or utilize your kitchen appliances to make life easier! The meals I prepare will be all vegetarian and largely eggless. I hope my page shows the world how flavorful and versatile vegetarian cooking can be. Along with recipes, I will be hoping to share a few “hacks” of life that I have picked up over the years. This page is for all of the people who have a want to make an Indian meal but maybe haven’t figured out how to simplify it for their terms quite yet. I look forward to seeing this community grow over time and I hope, as always, that this little page of mine will be a ray of light and joy for somebody.

Love,

Preeya
