    Dabeli Pizza

Dabeli Pizza is great for a no-rush, lazy Sunday kinda day. These are lots of fun for kids and adults alike and make for a great addition for your normal chaat line up. This recipe is great for using up extra things you have in the fridge. The paratha dough is from my Aloo Paratha recipe, the filling is from my Dabeli recipe and all the toppings can be a great way to use up chutneys and herbs from the fridge! The idea has all of the key flavor notes that you look for in great chaat food, but it is a little more portable. The best part is that…

    Dabeli

Dabeli are the perfect street snack in Gujarat. They’re tangy, spicy, a little sweet, crispy and crunchy around the edges but also buttery from the ghee. I can eat about 10 of these on the spot, the filling is just so lip-smacking. You definitely can’t stop at just 1. I started making these a few years back when I entered them in a food competition, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Mint Chutney

This is my go to chutney when making any chaat related food! It is such a nice compliment to samosas, papad, or even pizza! There is always a fresh batch in my fridge, and my aunt has started requesting a batch for her house too! If you’re low on time you can definitely make this in advance or whip this up in a huge batch and freeze it. If you omit the chili it is extremely kid-friendly! I would take chutney and butter/cream cheese sandwiches to school all the time and it is still on of my favorite snacks, especially with Jalapeño chips smashed in the middle! Ingredients: 2 cups…

    Bhel Pita Pockets

My dad is an undercover wizard/chef in our household. He doesn’t cook very often but when he does he always makes something that is magical. He combines that old school college-kid diet with Desi flavors and something delicious always comes of it. For me, this is his crowning glory creation. I can gobble up at least 2 of these at any point in the day. You could wake me up in the middle of the night to eat this and I would polish off a few of these in a heartbeat. In fact, he made this for my fiancé when he was in town and to this day he still…
