    Paneer Makhni (Paneer Butter Masala)

Where are the Paneer People at?! This dish is inspired by Swasthi’s Recipes, her recipes got me started on making more paneer dishes and I used her ingredients list and added a few additions of my own and changed the rations to suit my families tastes more. You get this wonderful buttery taste in the gravy, and it pairs well with rice or naan for an easy weeknight meal. You could fill this in a burrito with onions and raita, or fill it in a pita pocket for a fun modern twist on a classic. I hope you’ll try this meal for your next meal prep adventure! Ingredients: 600 g.…

    Gujarati Dal

Every Gujarati household I know has a generational war in one thing: kadhi or dal. My mom is a kadhi girl herself but has been beautifully cursed to make the best dal on Earth. All of the women in my family are kadhi people and all the men are dal people but this dal definitely has converted a few folks over the years. It is wonderfully spicy, sweet and tangy all at the same time! This recipe is different from a lot of other Gujarati families from all over the world but I would definitely encourage anyone to give it a try and see if its just as magical of…

    Spicy Pizza Dough

Almost everyone I know loves pizza, what better time to learn how to make it than quarantine?! This crust is spicy and crunchy, it hits all the right notes when it comes to pizza. It is a yeasted dough which I know makes some folks nervous. However, this dough utilizes instant yeast which lets you avoid that first proofing stage. The base of this recipe is from @SugarSpunRun I have made a bunch of adjustments and the below recipe is for 3 pizzas with a thinner crust or 2 with a thicker base. Nearly all of the spices are optional but these are just the ones I felt like adding.…

Palak Paneer (Spinach and Indian Cottage Cheese Curry)

So I will be honest, before I made this dish I had never tried palak paneer before. My dad and cousin are also not fans AT ALL. Until one day my parents came home with a whopping 4 pounds of baby spinach for no reason whatsoever. In a panic I decided to try and learn how to make this dish. After adding in my own twists to the gravy this recipe was born. My family loves this dish (including the picky eaters) and now we have added it into our quarantine rotation! It is a COVID miracle! This dish is a great way to get more leafy greens into your…

    Bataka nu Shaak

This is for all my Dal Bhat lovers out there. We all know that there is a war in every Gujarati household for kadhi vs. dal. This shaak is the perfect compliment to your meal to help you win over the naysayers. My family hosts Sunday Dal Bhat every week, and our table has seen many friends, family, and visitors come through in the past 10-15 years. It is our family’s go to “welcome meal”. To this day I love a warm plate of shaak rotli and athanu for lunch! It is so easy and so satisfying! I hope you’ll bring this to your table to share with your family…

    Air Fryer Gobi Manchurian

Want manchurian but don’t want to deep fry the cauliflower? I present to you Air Fryer Gobi Manchurian. This gravy is FIRE. I would highly recommend the same gravy for a variety of vegetables and protein. You could easily use this as an appetizer or as a side dish. We served these with vegan potstickers, vegetarian fried rice, and vegetable paneer stir fry. I hope you’ll try this recipe for a quick weeknight meal!

    Chana Masala

Chana Masala is the king of meal prep dishes for me. I feel like I can use it up in pretty much anything! Similar to the Chickpea Tinga Tacos, you can use this in Samosa Chaat or a pita pocket the next day, even just plain with rice is delicious! This is actually quite easy to make, however it does take a little while to make the gravy. The gravy is super freezer-friendly so I recommend making a huge batch of the gravy and freezing it! Even better, this dish is vegan and gluten-free! The gravy would be great with any types of veggies or protein. This is one of…

    Summertime Veggie Pasta

Happy Thursday Everyone! Today is all about a comfort meal. We are almost at the end of the workweek and, for me, the perfect Friday is me coming home and whipping up a nice hot meal and flipping on a movie. (Harry Potter is my series of choice.) This recipe is super flexible for dietary needs. It can easily be made vegan by swapping out the cream cheese for a vegan alternative and omitting the heavy whipping cream. Also, I made mine gluten-free by subbing out the pasta for a gluten-free/vegan option, Zoodles would be great too! This is a great way to use up a bunch of your veggies…

    Chickpea Tinga Tacos

Happy Taco Tuesday! If your family is anything like mine we require tacos at least once a week. Being vegetarian, it can sometimes be difficult to find a filling that is satisfying and tasty at the same time. This recipe is from the Hello Fresh Cookbook, however, I have made a few updates per my family’s taste. (Click here for the original recipe!)This filling is completely vegan and is really versatile in several different dishes! I highly recommend meal prepping a double batch and using it a couple of times throughout the week! The amount below will make 12-15 tacos and I normally account for roughly 2-3 tacos per person.…

    Homemade Veggie Burgers

It is peak cookout season! As the summer months are winding down I thought I would share my veggie burgers recipe. This recipe can be made easily vegan by subbing out the breadcrumbs for vegan ones or using various flours (I recommend rice flour) to dry out the patty! The recipe is already posted on my The GujjuGram Insta page but this will have more step by step instruction. These burgers are super satisfying and make a great addition to any summer barbecue. I will preface this by saying these are very heavily spiced, so if you prefer a milder mixture please feel free to dial down the spiced and…
